TimeKeeper
Anomalous items have been scattered across time and space, and retrieving them is key to stopping the destruction of the timeline as we know it. As a special agent of the Timekeeper's Watch, harness the power of your trusty Timepiece to bend causality and restore chronological order. Every world has a limited time for which it is stable, so make sure to accomplish your mission as fast as possible! Compete with your past self to further repair the timeline, and maybe save enough to get a good night's rest!
Mechanics Explanation:
Movement
The movement system allows bunny hopping as well as wall running. You can wall run most surfaces that are tilted at an angle. Jumping right after you land preserves your momentum.
Gameplay
Each level has a set time limit to reach collectibles and/or objectives.
- Collectibles are anomalies that you must collect (by running into them) to complete the level. They usually have a yellow highlight.
- Objectives display a required number of elapsed seconds. You can only interact with objectives when the elapsed time on your watch matches the objective's number. If you miss your window, the rift destabilizes and you will instantly lose!
Reach the BLUE orb after completing the collectibles and objectives to finish the level. Don't take too long or you lose.
Abilities
The Timekeeper's Timepiece is the only way for the player to accurately check elapsed time inside a temporal rift. Additionally, your Timepiece allows you to act as a conduit for causality, transferring the intended velocity of one object to another (even yourself)! However, having your watch out for too long will destabilize the time continuum and accelerate the passage of time. Be strategic in when you choose to wield its power—and stop checking if it's lunchtime yet!
Some levels have the potential to be puzzles just as much as they are platformers, and may not have immediately obvious solutions. Think about the tools you're given and the consequences of messing with the movement of objects.
